Roger “Buzz” King has been a computer science professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder for twenty-seven years, and teaches information and web systems, as well as 3D animation. His research has been funded by a broad spectrum of organizations, include the NSF, DARPA, the US Navy and Air Force, the Smithsonian, AT&T, and IBM.
He has published one novel, Silicon Songs, in hardback by Delacorte, and then in paperback by Dell. It received extremely good reviews.
Buzz grew up in southern California, and attended Catholic schools through twelfth grade. He has fond memories of Santa Clara Elementary School in Oxnard, where the sisters - who are now long gone - took such good care of him.
He went to Occidental College and Cal Tech as an undergraduate, and received an A.B. in Mathematics. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Southern California.
Buzz recently underwent cornea transplants to restore his vision, which had been degrading for twenty-five years. He’s quite happy that he can read this.
Buzz says: "Academic research is as solid as marble bull."
